Due to a problem with the flight the case was postponed to this morning
Public Ministry appeals Joran vd Sloot and the brothers Kalpoe's freedom
Deals with appeal of vd Sloot DNA test also!

There will be three different cases taking place in the case of Natalee Holloway.
The fact that the principal suspect has recovered his freedom and has started his studies in the Netherlands doesn't mean that the case has come to an end or that there's nothing more to do.
The same goes for the two brothers Deepak and Satish Kalpoe.
The case of Public Ministry's appeal deals with the suspension of detention of both the brothers Kalpoe and Joran vd Sloot. It also deals Joran vd Sloot's appeal issue of JvdS taking the DNA test. This will all take place this morning
The case had to take place yesterday afternoon, but due to a problem with the flight, the judge from Curacao postponed the case to this morning
JORAN VD SLOOT
The first case of the day is to be in regards to JvdS, his lawyer will fight to prohibit a DNA test be taken from his client.
The second instance deals with the Public Ministry's beroep(?) against the suspension of vdS's detention.
KALPOES IN COURT
It is Bon Dia Aruba's understanding that for this morning's case, the brothers Kalpoe will be present. JvdS is in Holland, therefore will obviously not be present.
However if today's case falls in the Public Ministry's favour, vdS will have to return to Aruba to take responsibility for himself here.

Report on the Prosecution's Appeal of the Suspended Detention
DIARIO Aruba
9/06/2005
The prosecution's appeal of the suspended detention will take place Thursday afternoon at 2 pm.
Judge Terberg will come from Curacao (and then go back to confer with the 2 other judges, I assume, like has happened in the past).
Kock said it's not necessary for the suspects to attend, however his client will attend.
Classes in the NL start next Monday, so Joran will probably fly in for the day.
So what happens if Joran flies in and the prosecution wins the appeal?

Marriott Beach Pond Draining
Bon Dia Aruba
9/05/2005
At around 7.30 in the morning, firemen started to to drain the water in a pond north of the Marriott, next to the fishermen's huts.
This was done at the request of Jansen, who heads the team investigating the case of Natalee Holloway. The reason why they decided to conduct a rigorous search was because this is the last place that suspect Joran v.d. Sloot was with Natalee Holloway.
After draining 80% of the water, they used a crane to look through the mud and found different items. There was a handbag in which there was a headband. Aside from this, the bag was full of rocks, which indicates that the person who threw it in the pond didn't want it to be found.
Aside from the handbag and the headband, they found 2 cloth bags, a machete, 2 items of drug paraphernelia and a shoe. All the articles were in the mud and had to be washed to determine if they had anything to do with the investigation.
The work lasted until nightfall. All articles were confiscated and now they will be further looked into to see if they are related to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway.
Yesterday durin the day a few divers dove in the the vicinity of the fishermen huts again to look for clues.
