ORANJESTAD (AAN): Recently, Aruba Trade & Industry Association (ATIA) put out a press released about the Governor of Alabama.
Bob Riley asked for a boycott against Aruba, were he said that we in Aruba understand the pain of Natalee Holloway’s mother, however, the Governor in this way took a decision that will affect the lives of millions of people, cannot take decisions on the basis of a sad mother’s emotions.
He has to better inform himself, before threatening the livelihoods of 100,000 people in Aruba.
The release also says that ATIA strongly condemns the irresponsible and unprofessional declarations made by Bob Riley.
Dr. Phillip C. McGraw, better known as Dr. Phil, also followed the petition of the Governor and asked for a boycott of Aruba.
His show only portrayed one side of the story of the disappearance of Natalee Holloway, without trying to find out the correct facts.
The former therapist stopped giving therapy in 1989, after the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists publicly pulled his attention.
This was due to the fact that he was under accusations of sexual abuse.

The accusation was on the part of a former patient of Dr. Phil, after which Dr. Phil was placed under supervision. He had to undergo physical and psychological tests, as well as follow ethics lessons.
Dr. Phil also found himself under cases of damages and prejudice against his person by the unjust imprisonment [ed. case dismissed without prejudice] of Laurie Bembenek [ed. convicted killer], while he also owed private jet bills of $132,962.
ATIA continues to say that while they don’t give much value to Dr. Phil’s opinions, all this has a negative effect for Aruba, given that millions of people watch his show.
They also say that doing harm to Aruba will not help solve this case.
ATIA also said in its release that they have full confidence in the police corps and the prosecution’s office that are working on the case, given that our legal system has showed for long years that it is the best in the world.
