MEP internally divided on minister positions

ARUBA – Yesterday evening, the party in office MEP met on the distribution of minister positions in the new cabinet. The meeting was tumultuous and the persons present left without a decision. The meeting continued today, after the last Parliament meeting, before the new parliament takes office.

Actually, the MEP wanted to present the new ministers today, so that they do not have to be sworn in as Members of Parliament. They can then start working right away.

It appears to be difficult for Nelson Oduber to establish a new council of ministers. It seems that the current Justice-minister Rudy Croes and his colleague-minister Ramon Lee of Labour, Culture, and Sport do not get what they want. The two left the meeting prematurely. They didn’t want to comment on their premature departure.
